Demolition is more than knocking something down. EMCO Builders tears out structures, old mobile homes, barns, sheds, concrete slabs, and foundations across Baldwin County, Mobile County and across South Alabama, then cleans up and hauls off so you're left with a clear site, not a debris pile. When a storm wrecks a shed, a barn, or a mobile home, the teardown runs the same way, and the downed trees and debris around it are covered on our storm cleanup and debris removal page.
Doing it safe and clean is the job. We check for what has to come out or get handled first, drop the structure in control instead of just smashing it, separate what can be salvaged or recycled, and haul the rest to where it goes. When you're clearing to rebuild, demolition runs straight into clearing, grading, and a fresh slab, so the same crew takes you from teardown to build-ready ground.

We take down houses, barns, sheds, shops, and outbuildings, pull old mobile homes off their spots and haul them away, and break out concrete slabs, foundations, and driveways. Some of it is making room to rebuild, some is getting rid of a hazard or an eyesore, and some is a mobile home that has reached the end of the road. Whatever it is, we drop it in a controlled way and clean up behind ourselves.
Concrete is its own kind of work. Busting out a slab, a foundation, or an old driveway takes the right iron and a plan for the rubble, which we can crush and reuse as base or haul off. When the tear-out is the first step toward something new, we roll right into grading and pad prep so the ground is ready for the pour.
A hurricane leaves structures in every state between standing and gone: a shed folded over its contents, a carport wrapped around a tree, a mobile home shifted off its piers. Once the site is safe to work, we take what is left down in a controlled way, separate what can be salvaged or recycled, and clear the footprint so you can rebuild or leave it open.
Damaged structures are unpredictable. There can be live lines, hidden hazards in the wreckage, and standing water around everything, so we read a damaged site before we tear into it and keep utilities and neighbors' property in mind. The trees, limbs, and yard debris around the structure are storm cleanup work, and the two jobs often run as one visit.
Before anything comes down we look at what's in it and around it: utilities to disconnect, tanks or septic to handle, and what's close enough to protect. Older structures around here can hold materials that have to be dealt with the right way, and we'll tell you straight if something needs a specialist before we proceed. Cutting corners on demolition is how people and neighboring buildings get hurt.
When it's down, the job isn't over. We sort what we can salvage or recycle, load out the rest, and haul it to where it legally goes. No leaving a pile for you to figure out, and no dumping where it shouldn't be. You're left with a clean site that's ready for whatever comes next, whether that's a new build or just open ground.
From the first walkthrough to the final one, here’s exactly how your project runs.
We come out and look at the actual ground: the growth, the slope, the wet spots and the access. We listen to what you want done and give you a clear, written estimate. No pressure and no phone-quote guessing.
We lock in a date, plan equipment access and where debris goes, and account for drainage and any lines or wetlands to protect. You know the plan before anything starts moving.
Our crew runs our own track loader and its attachments, keeps the site clean and keeps you posted. Decades of experience means we read the ground and adjust instead of tearing it up.
We walk the finished property with you, load out or mulch whatever the plan called for, and leave the ground clean, graded, and ready for whatever you are building next.
